Custom windows and stacked sliding doors in Pennsylvania were designed for the Moonrise Valley property to work with the building’s curved openings, wide façade, and natural surroundings. This was not a standard window and door project: the structure had a high wood ceiling, angled upper sections, curved side openings, and wide lower openings that required a custom glass layout.
The goal was to bring in more natural light, create wider views, and make the interior feel more connected to the outdoors. To achieve that, the glass sections had to be made around the shape of the building, not selected from standard sizes and forced into place.
Before: a strong structure with limited glass
Before the new systems were added, the building had large lower openings, but the full height and shape of the façade were not being used.
The curved side sections and upper angled areas were the key challenge. These were not standard rectangular openings. They required custom planning, accurate measurements, and window sections made specifically for the shape of this building.
This is where the project became more than a simple window or door replacement.
What was supplied for this project
For this Moonrise Valley project, Smart Choice Windows & Doors manufactured custom glass systems designed around the existing structure.
The project included:
custom-shaped windows for the curved side sections;
upper glass sections following the roofline;
custom-size 3-panel stacked sliding doors;
large glass areas across the front façade;
black frames to create a clean, consistent visual line.
Each section had to work with the architecture of the building, not against it.
Custom-shaped windows
The curved side windows are one of the most important parts of this project.
They follow the existing shape of the building and help keep the original architectural character. Instead of covering or simplifying the curved openings, the custom windows turn them into a feature.
The upper glass sections also make a visible difference. They bring light into the height of the room and make the interior feel more open.
3-panel stacked sliding doors
Across the lower part of the façade, custom-size 3-panel stacked sliding doors were used to open the space toward the deck and outdoor view.
From the inside, the result is easy to understand. The room now has a stronger visual connection to the landscape, while the wider glass sections make the space feel brighter and more open.
From the outside, the stacked sliding doors, upper glass sections, and curved side windows work together as one complete custom system. The black frames also create a clean, consistent visual line across the façade.
Why this project required a custom solution
Custom windows and stacked sliding doors in Pennsylvania were the right solution for this property because the building had curved side openings, angled upper sections, and wide lower openings. Standard-size products would not have followed the architecture in the same way.
For that reason, this project was not only about adding more glass. It was about making the glass fit the architecture, the view, and the purpose of the space.
Custom-shaped windows and stacked sliding doors helped open the Moonrise Valley property with more natural light, wider views, and a stronger connection to the outdoors.
