For this custom entry door with sidelites project, we built a complete entrance system for a brick home in Brooklyn, New York. The homeowners wanted a cleaner front entrance without losing the character of the house. The new design keeps that balance: simple shape, more light, and details that still feel right on the brick.

The door itself has a clean slab design with a full-height pull bar. On both sides, narrow sidelites admit light through clear glass finished with decorative wrought-iron grilles. That combination gives the entrance a more open feel from inside, while the front of the home still looks solid and defined.
This project works because the elements are restrained. The slab door keeps the look modern. The grille pattern adds detail without making the entrance feel heavy. Together, they suit the brick façade instead of fighting with it.
More light without losing privacy
One of the best parts of this custom entry door with sidelites is how it changes the hallway. The sidelites bring in more daylight, so the entrance no longer feels closed in. At the same time, the narrow proportions and iron detailing keep the overall look more private than a fully open glass design.
