For this home in Ohio, we made and supplied custom fiberglass double entry doors with decorative glass and a warm woodgrain finish. The homeowners already had an arched transom above the entrance and wanted to keep it.
Rather than replacing the entire entry system, the project focused on updating the double doors while leaving the original transom in place.
Replacing Double Entry Doors Without Replacing the Transom
An existing transom doesn’t always need to be replaced when you order new front doors.
If the transom is in good condition and the opening is suitable, it may be possible to keep it and replace only the doors below.
That’s what made this Ohio project different. The original arched glass remained part of the entrance, while the homeowners received new custom double doors.
If you’re considering fibreglass double entry doors with transom glass above them, it’s worth checking whether your existing transom can stay. The answer depends on the condition and measurements of the opening.
Woodgrain Double Doors with Decorative Glass
For the new doors, the homeowners selected a warm woodgrain finish and decorative glass.
The wood-look surface complements the traditional shape of the arched transom, while the glass inserts add detail to the double-door design.
When ordering custom entry doors, you can discuss available finishes, glass styles and configurations based on your home’s entrance.
